In reply to yours of the 27th ult., transmitting copy of despatch from General Whitfield, relating to the Civil Hospital at Hongkong, I would respectfully suggest, that as the despatch and Circular to which it forms a reply, refer to topics already frequently before the local authorities of Hongkong, as well as before H. M. Government, there can be no detriment in allowing the correspondence to stand over till my Arrival.
In Hongkong, for which place I shall
20 soon embark.
Some new subjects for reflection will no doubt suggest themselves.
